Theater District
Maandagochtend het laatste ontbijt buiten de deur en op weg naar de laatste attracties van onze tocht. Misschien goed om nog eens extra te benadrukken dat het geen zin heeft om het ontbijt in je hotel te gebruiken. Het is veel leuker om 's ochtends vroeg naar de daarvoor gebruikelijke locaties te gaan. Het eerste kopje koffie op je hotelkamer blijft natuurlijk wel nodig om wakker te worden.
Times Square met al zijn billboards en geluiden en verkeer en de beklimming van het Empire State building. Oeps! Dat was druk toen we op Times Square boven de grond kwamen. We hebben nog gezocht naar de webcam, zodat we naar het thuisfront konden zwaaien, maar helaas niet gevonden.
Zero visibility. Ja, ja, die Amerikanen weten ook wel hoe ze juridische claims moeten voorkomen. Maar we hebben wel op de 86e etage gestaan. Tenslotte is dat wat de toerist wil! Als je boven staat hoor je een voortdurende stroom geluid van beneden. Maar als je gericht luistert, hoor je het typische geluid van politiesirenes en brandweerauto's.

Ik vind zo iets hardstikke leuk. Zeker wanneer je nog iets langer weg bent kun je zo anderen, van het laatste nieuws laten meegenieten. Dank jullie wel dat ik mocht meekijken en lezen.

Na de websites gekregen te hebben, heb ik even de tijd genomen je reisverhalen (Hotze) te lezen en je foto's (Inge) te bekijken. Ik heb ze allemaal in een ruk uitgelezen, zowel van Karpathos als van New York. Wat mij betreft mogen jullie zo weer met vakantie!
